The Art of Structures
The October lecture with the title from the new series Constructions will introduce Swiss structural engineer and professor of structural design at ETH Zurich Joseph Schwarz. He will speak about his projects in collaboration with architect Christian Kerez and others.
Joseph Schwartz
Joseph Schwartz is a civic engineer and a professor of structural design at the Faculty of Architecture of the prestigious ETH Zurich University, where he also received his Master’s degree. In 1989, he obtained his Doctor of Technical Sciences degree and received the Silver Medal for his dissertation work. He has been involved in numerous projects with prominent architects and closely collaborated with Christian Kerez on buildings such as the One-Wall House in Zurich (2007). He was a co-owner of the Frey&Schwartz architectural firm and later founded his own company Dr. Schwartz Consulting. He became a full professor at the ETH Zurich Technical University in 2008. He is also a co-author of several scholarly books.
