Ivan Kroupa
Ivan Kroupa is one of the well-known Czech architects and professors of contemporary architecture. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, after which he did internships in London, Paris and Barcelona. Among the most important projects of his team is the Ceremonial Hall in Týnec nad Sázavou, the Contemporary Art Center DOX or the Technological Building of the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague, which was opened in 2022. He won several awards, such as the Ministry of Culture Award for Contribution to Architecture in 2019, and was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award or Berliner Kunstpreis. For the past twenty years, he has also worked as a teacher. Until 2008, he was the head of the U1530 design studio and Institute at the Faculty of Architecture, and then until 2021 as the head of the Architecture II studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague.
