Boris Reyher (sbp)
Boris Reyher is one of the directors of the German engineering office Schlaich Bergmann and partner (sbp), which has been active in its field for more than 40 years. They call themselves visionaries in lightweight and high-span, efficient and sustainable construction and work on projects all around the world. They are co-authors of several unique buildings, such as the Porsche pavilion in Wolfsburg, the Trumpf footbridge in Ditzingen, Germany, and the roof covering of the tram stops at the Main station in Berlin. An exceptional project was also the collaboration with the artistic duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude on the realization of a temporary art installation called L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped. They created an auxiliary structure for this art project, which was successfully realized 60 years after the origin of the design. The sbp studio was one of the first to deal with the development and possibilities of photovoltaics.
